The LYRA-4 is the latest creation from SOMA Laboratory – a compact, rugged, and focused version of the much-loved LYRA-8. It keeps the same spirit and sonic character but distils it into a smaller, more immediate instrument that’s perfect for performance, studio work, or travel.

At its heart are four non-linear oscillators that interact and modulate each other in beautifully unpredictable ways. The result can move from fragile, evolving tones to intense, distorted soundscapes with a few touches of the controls. The built-in FM routing, HYPER LFO, MOD DELAY and drive circuit give you huge scope for shaping sound – from drifting ambience to raw noise and pulsing rhythms.

Like all SOMA instruments, the LYRA-4 is designed to be played rather than programmed. The interface encourages touch and exploration; every movement changes the response in a musical way. It’s a synth that invites you to lose yourself in the sound.
